OUR TRIPOD

Our tripod is based on the principles Leadership, Scholarship, and Fellowship. These principles allow Phi Sigma Pi to be the best of an honors society, service club, and social fraternity.

LEADERSHIP

In Phi Sigma Pi, we strongly believe knowledge and skill without application is meaningless. It is for this reason that we actively work to give back to the community. Through service learning, we strive to learn about the issues in today's society and our ability to make an impact.

To reflect the diversity of our Brothers and their various beliefs, the Zeta Mu chapter has been involved in numerous different causes including literacy promotion, the arts, environment and sustainability, homeless and low-income relief, autism, elderly care, sexual and domestic violence, and more.

HIGHLIGHT

Last year, Phi Sigma Pi raised $1,350 for the Care-a-Thon. Every year, the Student Alumni Association at UCI hosts the Care-a-Thon, a dance marathon, in order to raise money for UC Irvine's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU not only provides life-saving care for newborn babies, but it also conducts research and develops training programs so that doctors and nurses can provide the same quality health care locally, nationally, and globally.

SCHOLARSHIP

As an organization at the one of the nation's top universities, we understand and emphasize the importance of strong academics. But in Phi Sigma Pi, we do not limit ourselves to just what we learn in our classes. We seek knowledge and wisdom outside of the classroom like at debates and speaker talks. Furthermore, we learn from each other and utilize our resources to build on our professional skills.

HIGHLIGHT

Brother-teach-Brother is one of our Scholarship programs that utilizes our network of well-rounded students. Lessons can cover a variety of different topics and skills like sign language, the university service workers strike, improv, skateboarding, Chinese, and religions. Brothers are both teachers and students.

FELLOWSHIP

Like leadership and scholarship, fellowship has many meanings in Phi Sigma Pi. It means uniting bright, talented individuals towards a common goal. It means having fun and sharing experiences with awesome people. And last but not least, it means creating connections and relationships beyond UC Irvine.

HIGHLIGHT

Every year, Phi Sigma Pi hosts a Regional Conference all the chapters in our region meet up to learn from each other and have fun. Last year's "Great Fratsby" regional conference was held at the UC Riverside. All the chapters in the former Pacific Coast Region attended (Washington State, University of Washington, University of Seattle, UN Las Vegas, UC Davis, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, UC Los Angeles, and UC Riverside). Brothers learned how to swing dance; collected thousands of dollars’ worth of school supplies for Teach for America; helped at a nature reserve; and learned how to get published. All while having a blast!
